Okay Ladies: Here I am at the airport. Hardly any lineups to get through customs so I'm at my gate super duper early to fly out to San Antonio. I absolutely can not wait to go to another Stampin' Up! event. Convention was too long ago!
What I am really looking forward to is meeting up with my friends. It seems so funny that I just met these "friends" one year ago at last year's Leadership Conference and now we can't wait to see each other again and catch up. One year ago I went to my first large Stampin' Up! event not really having anyone to hang out with. I walked around the large crowd waiting for the buses for Managers Reception feeling absolutely out of place because everyone seemed to know what to expect and everyone had friends to hang with except me. I took the risk and walked up to absolute strangers and asked if I could sit with them at the dinner and took the risk and shared my life and story with them. Although it was totally scary, I am reaping the benefits now. They were supportive e-mail friends this past year whenever I wanted to talk stampin' and now I get to have roomates and friends to hang with and experience this great adventure at Leadership this year.
Isn't life like that? It takes risk to step out of our comfort zone and do something different. I could've been rejected when I plucked up my courage to ask strangers if I could sit with them at dinner but if I hadn't taken that risk, I never would have the blessing of their friendship.
The things I am getting you prepared to do will take risk and courage but YOU CAN DO IT!
Your call to action which you should do by the end of this week at the latest:
1) Set your goals. Last week I talked about your wants and your why. Often our wants and whys are very abstract and it is hard to measure if they have been achieved. This week I want you to set measureable goals to give you something to shoot for. Pick whatever is meaningful and motivating for you but make sure it is concrete and measureable and time sensitive so you will know you've achieved it. E.G. I will earn $200 every month, I will earn the hilton head incentive trip, I will promote to sr. consultant by March 30th. etc.
Write your goals in your notebook I told you to get.
2) Look at your calendar and block off all dates and times that you are willing to do a private class or workshop. I have 12 spots in my calendar every month at least. Obviously I will not fill all those spots with workshops but I have them set aside as possible options for customers. Make sure your family knows that this is sacred Stampin' Up! work time.
3) Make a list of everyone you can think of that you want to share Stampin' Up! with. This is a brainstorming list. Leave no one off. Continue to add to this list throughout the week because sometimes someone might come to your mind at a different time or you may bump into someone during the week that you didn't originally have on the list. You can have past customers on this list but also have people that have never stamped before. EVERYONE you can think of that would benefit from what Stampin' has to offer. (see this is why you need a notebook. put all this info in your notebook. you will have everything in one place).
You may be perplexed where we are going with all of this but this is groundwork to get ready for the hard work that will build the strong foundation for your business. I hope you all do it and e-mail me when you've done it and what your goals are! I like hearing from you.
