Can you believe that it's almost the end of a Stampin' Up! catalogue? The new catalogue goes live in just a couple of weeks on June 1st. The new catalogue always brings a lot of excitement and so many new pretty things. I start making a wish list of all the things I want from the new catty. If you're anything like me, your list is long. Very long. How will I manage to buy everything I want from the new catalogue? How will I have time to play with all the new goodies?
I know! I will run a Stampin' Up! business and earn money to pay for all my goodies AND run events that give me a reason to use all the beautiful new product and embellishments. The stuff is so good why wouldn't I want to share it and earn money in the process?
Having just come back from the wonderful Stampin' Up! incentive trip, I also now have a new perspective on those awards and bonuses that Stampin' Up! offers. Those thousands of dollars in bonues and fantastic trips are just dangling there for the taking! Stampin' Up! wants to give us money and vacations. Why wouldn't I set goals to acheive them? This is nothing like winning the lottery. The lottery is so rare and is based solely on chance. However, lots of people earn the Stampin' Up! trips and cash bonuses and it is based on concrete ACTIONS AND GOALS.
So, here's some action you can take now.
1) review your goals from this past year. Did you have goals? Without goals you are a runner running a race with no finish and no race course. I wouldn't be surprised if you feel disillusioned, discouraged, confused. That's how I would feel if I was running randomly without a course map or a clear finish line. If you had goals did you achieve them or not. If yes, identify what helped you achieve them and if not, identify why not.
2) Set goals for the coming stampin' up year. The new year begins July 1st. A fresh year ahead with lots of potential for amazing things. Make sure your goals are Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Sensitive.
There are a couple of resources on the demonstrator website under My business, my business resources, printing place that would be very helpful. I really liked the incentive trip tracker sheet. There is also a financial planning worksheet and goal setting worksheet. Use and modify for your purposes.
3) Be a part of the fabulous four group. This means you have at least 4 sales generating events per month in your calendar. This is just one night a week per month. Three workshops, one club. Or two workshops a class and a club. How do you get these four events in your calendar per month? Plan ahead for them by setting the dates in your calendar, make booking calls until you get all the bookings you want and need. Classes and club should be consistent. E.g. the first Wednesday of the month, the second tuesday of the month. They should be in your calendar for the rest of the year and you need to be diligent to invite and follow up with people to get them to these events.
4) Commit to attending the monthly team celebrations. No one can run a race alone. Team mates always strengthen you. Our team meetings are typically the first Thursday of every month. Mark it in your calendar and plan to attend.
At this time of year you should be having a retirement party. For example charge $20 or free with a miniumum $25 purchase to come and stamp 4 beautiful cards with matching envelopes. You will be highlighting stamp sets that are retiring and this is the last chance to get them. Or change the name to New Fun and New friends and make it a new catalogue event highlighting new products. You can invite the whole world...it doesn't matter if they are crafty or not. At the end of the event they will have something wonderful to take home and don't be surprised if they get bitten by the crafting bug and come out to your next event that month. It's that easy to run a stamping business.
The key is ACTION.
Dreamers Dream. Successful people take action on those dreams!
E-mail me what action you are taking. I can't wait to hear of your successes!
