Calendar control and Class consistency

This weeks action is to look in your calendar and set dates for your Stampin' Up! classes.  I have suggested that everyone should have a basic card class in their calendar.  This is a class that anybody can come to with or without stamping experience.  This is the class you invite people to when you are chatting it up with a friend you haven't seen in a while.  This is the class you invite people to when they are leaving the workshop and haven't booked their own. Here's my quick video talk for this week.  It's only about 10 minutes long.

Note: Once you have set a date in your calendar and advertised it, do not change it around because you realize later that it would be more convenient to cancel it or do it another day.  Even if you have only one person coming, keep the date.  Make this a consistent class eg. first Wednesday of the month.  It will take a while for you, your family and your customers to know that you have a consistent class and are sticking to it. I know life can be crazy and so many things can combine to make things feel overwhelming but be consistent about keeping your calendar full with home parties and at least your basic card class.
Once you have the date for this basic card class, take action to have people come.  Remember: no flat fee class.  My basic card class is an order based class $15 or free with $25 purchase.

Also, another tip, do not put a strong emphasis on your classes when you are doing a private class/workshop.  You don't talk about your classes because you want people to book their own private classes with you and their friends.  Only right at the end when people are paying and you ask them to book their own private party, and they decline, that's when you give them your class schedule and invite them to the class.

Here are some pictures of card samples that would be suitable for a basic card class or a private class/workshop.  The key is simple and easy so that guests/participants feel proud and competant.  These 4 cards are ones that I am doing for a private card class this Friday.  The hostess requested birthday cards for a mom and child private class.  These cards are really super basic because kids are going to be there but I would easily use these for my sweet and simple card class.
